Waste Pickers
Millions of people in India make a living collecting, sorting, recycling and selling materials that someone else has thrown away. However, they face low social stigma, deplorable living and working conditions and get little support from local governments.
We provide sustainable jobs and reliable incomes to our waste pickers and help them create better futures for themselves and their families - all while they support us by collecting and supplying ocean-bound plastic.
Mobile Platform
Our award-winning mobile app builds transparency into our supply chain, enabling brands to comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations.
Over 500 stakeholders are connected through our fair trade supply chains, with SMS and voice features helping workers that are illiterate.
Scrap Shops
The scrap-shop dealers in our supply chain buy plastic waste from waste pickers - recording each transactions and ensuring fair wages. Our field workers regularly onboard new waste-pickers here and provide them with training.
The first segregation is done here to ensure the highest quality of the material and our JIT supply chain forecasting ensures our orders are delivered on time and in full.
Aggregators
Our aggregators collect waste from scrap shops, hand segregate it and put it through rigorous quality testing. All our quality control data is recorded on the platform to ensure consistency.
The plastic is then baled, geo-tagged and sent to Europe for processing.
Granule Producer
We have partnered with the most advanced processing facilities in Europe to ensure that our plastic is converted to Nestle A-grade quality granules that are food-grade EFSA certified.
We currently produce rPET, rHDPE and rPP.
Manufacturers
The high-quality granules are then sent to manufacturers that convert it into packaging for some of the biggest brands in the world.
Our rigorous and transparent process ensures that the final product is of the highest quality. For example, with our rPET stream we produce recycled plastic that is clear-like-glass.
Brands
The brands that use our supply chain can choose to procure their recycled plastic as either scrap bales, granules or as final packaging.
Apart from being able to fulfill their recycling goals, using our supply chain allows brands to deepen brand loyalty and prevent consumer backlash by fighting plastic pollution and creating sustainable livelihoods through our platform.
Consumers
The brand’s consumers then purchase the final product.
Sourcing our recycled plastic and using our story has proven to create a change in consumer sentiment towards a brand from ‘concerned and negative’ to ‘positive and interested’.
Recyclable
Finally, the high quality of our recycled plastics ensures that it is material that can be further recycled - thereby helping create and fortify the circular economy for plastic.
